STOP FAKING IT. EMBRACE IT till you make it.
Have you ever heard the phrase “fake it until you make it” , I have…. plenty of times. Yet to me, it is a misguided attempt to cover up insecurities and hide behind a façade of confidence. But as I look back on my journey, I realize that true growth didn’t come from pretending to be someone I wasn’t. It came from embracing every part of my story—the good, the bad, and every messy, beautiful step in between.
“Faking it” often feels like a shortcut to confidence. In a world that celebrates instant success and picture-perfect lives, many of us resort to putting on a mask to hide our vulnerabilities. However, this approach can be isolating. When we fake it, we miss out on genuine connections and the opportunity to learn from our true selves.
I am where I am today not because I pretended to have everything figured out, but because I embraced every aspect of my journey. Embracing means accepting your flaws, celebrating your successes, and learning from your failures. It’s about being fully present in your own life and trusting that every experience is a stepping stone to becoming the person you’re meant to be.
Every success story involved moments of struggle, doubt, and even failure.
My journey is a testament to the power of embracing every aspect of life. I am where I am today because I chose to face it all. My fears, my feelings, my traumas, I celebrated my successes, and healed my way up to where I am now. Instead of pretending to have it all together, I embraced the messy, unpredictable process of growth. And that, I believe, is the secret to true, lasting success.
Stop faking it. Embrace your journey with all its imperfections. When you do, you’ll find that every challenge, every setback, and every triumph adds up to a richer, more authentic life.
How sad is it to spend your whole life faking it just to make it. At the end of the day you weren’t being your most authentic self, you were just giving what you thought you had to give in order to be valued or loved.
EMBRACE IT ALL.
Heart to Heart,
Emmy
